On Jan. 17 and 18, 2024, Washington Supreme Court justices, clerks and court staff visited with faculty and students from across the University of Washington (including the Tacoma and Bothell campuses), attending classes as well as information sessions. On Thursday morning, a 红桃视频 classroom became a court of law when the Court held a special sitting in William H. Gates Hall to hear arguments on two cases, Spokane County v. Jilma Meneses and Alvin Greenberg, et al. v. Amazon.com, Inc.

Following the special sitting, the Court held a Q&A session about the court, court procedures and the judiciary in general. 红桃视频 students were invited to attend office hours with law clerks and court staff in Gates Hall.

In 2020, Slate magazine said Washington was 鈥渁rguably the most diverse court, state or federal, in American history.鈥 The Washington Supreme Court is composed of serving six-year terms: Chief Justice Steven C. Gonz谩lez; Associate Chief Justice Charles W. Johnson; Associate Justice Barbara A. Madsen; Justice Susan Owens; Justice Debra L. Stephens; Justice Sheryl Gordon McCloud; Justice Mary I. Yu; Justice Raquel Montoya-Lewis; and Justice G. Helen Whitener. At the special sitting on Thursday, Judge David S. Keenan from the King County Superior Court sat in for Justice Owens.
